CAVOODLE BREED INFORMATION
The Cavoodle is a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and either a Toy or Miniature Poodle. The Cavalier is one of Australia’s most popular purebred dogs. Deliberately bred as a companion dog, it has an adorable temperament and is gentle and compliant around children. The Poodle is another popular small breed and is known for its intelligence and loyalty.
The lovable little Cavoodle is suitable for all age groups and most lifestyles. Thanks to the influence from its parents, the Cavoodle is an intelligent dog, not as hyperactive as some other cross breeds and adores human companionship.
For families or owners with allergies, this is a perfect breed to have in the home.
The Cavoodle is a hypoallergenic dog, meaning they sheds minimally and therefore
can be tolerated by some people with allergies. They should be brushed regularly and
groomed every two to three months.
Cavoodles can come in a variety of colours. The most common colours are red, white, black, apricot, tricolour (black, white, tan), Blenheim (chestnut and white) and black and tan. Adults will range in height from 25 – 37cm and weigh anywhere from 3kgs to 8kgs for a smaller sized Cavoodle. Being a cross breed, size and weight cannot be guaranteed and can vary greatly between litter mates.
